Job Description: 

JOB SCOPE

Conduct schedule and non-scheduled inspection activities and lead inspectors in performing inspection to enhance equipment/instrument integrity, in compliance with operational priorities. Investigate issues, define and implement improvement actions in order to solve urgent and recurring issues. continuously improve on efficiency, safety and quality of assets.

COMMUNICATION

  • Internal : Report and refer on a regular basis with hierarchy. Implement pertinent policies, exchange information, discuss and know relevant KPIs/performance parameters. Provide service to other organizations.
  • External: NA.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure day-to-day work is performed effectively, efficiently, and safely in order to increase refinery profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote health, safety & compliance to environmental standards.
  • Perform equipment/piping inspection as per OSI (On Stream Inspection) /RBI (Risk Based Inspection) /EIS/External Inspection plan along with all other inspection programs.
  • Perform/plan all due CML for Equipment/Piping system and avoid overdue with the support from NDT coordinator.  
  • Reviewing the OSI/EIS/External interval based on actual findings (Corrosion rates/remaining life calculation, etc) and timely share all measurements with EIS/APMs coordinator to timely update/upload in the system.
  • Review NDT/Inspection reports, calculate CRs & remaining life and share it with Inspection Engineer to review and acknowledge the report/calculation and submit signed NDT/Inspection reports to Document Controller. 
  • Verify the piping data for Class Zero CML (T min, Actual measured thickness, previous thickness readings, Piping dia. and schedule). Correct any wrong entered data and recalculate the corrosion rates & the remaining life.
  • Issue inspection worksheets timely after reviewing with Inspection Engineer for piping/Equipment as required and submit to Document Controller.
  • Gather reliable data to support RBI team and its program and follow up execution of the RBI mitigation plan with OME. Provide support for ongoing RCAs and MOC design review meetings.
  • Review inspection procedures as SME. Evaluate new suggested inspection technologies. Provide the required support to OME and attend daily OME meetings.
  • Review of IOW report and share any concern/deviation with corrosion engineer/Inspection & RBI Engineers/operation team on daily basis. Provide the required support during process and operational upset or emergency.
  • Follow up on inspection worksheet execution progress and support the team if waiver decided. Attend all risk assessments with process safety engineer and OME team with the support of Inspection Engineer.
  • Prepare and provide inspection scope for EIS equipment & prior TA & SD and MOC packages with Inspection Engineer support
  • Participate on the safety walkthrough with managements. Conduct external visual inspection of the installed clamps in the area as per APMS Plan and closing the task accordingly with visual inspection report.
  • Follow up and support for the ongoing MOC and provide inspection scope including NDT and Pressure test requirements.
  • Report any abnormal condition at site during area weekly walk through. Provide inspection and NDT support in the Maintenance work shop and contractor Facilities (outside YASREF) for MOC/IWS.  Follow up all repair activities and ensure repair quality as per issued inspection worksheet and closure of worksheets after job completion.
  • Conduct material inspection with provided MTC for the MOC/Inspection work sheet and other materials as per request from the reliability and area support team.
  • Conduct Thermography inspection for required locations  as required and issue a detailed report and close the Task at the APMS if required.
  • Follow up with the TA team for the NSD equipment T&I activities, recommendations, and repair if required.
  • Perform coating inspection for existing/new equipment & piping and carry out required inspection during coating repair activities.
  • Review PWHT procedure, follow up activities, and confirm the hardness value after completion of the treatment.
  • Review welding procedure prior any welding activities, review welders qualifications, inspect welding electrodes, check the quality of all welding production.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct Supervisor.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Two (2) years Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering.
  • ASNT-Level II (UT,RT,VT, MT & PT) required Certified in following APIs(API 570, 653 & 510) Required Welding Inspector CSWIP 3.1 or CWI/AWS Required Inspector or Coating Inspector Level II Required
